Department Level Integration Sandbox
A well-known hospital chain uses Connexion as a department-level sandbox for data analysis and AI prototyping. There are three main advantages to Connexion in this environment: it is less costly, extremely extensible/developer friendly, and it is isolated from the primary hospital engines. Instead of requiring feeds to each department application (where other engine feeds are an added cost), Connexion can receive a single set of feeds and branch them to each department application. It can also host applications which consume this data – in this case for analysis and AI prototyping.
HIE Coordination & Applications
A well-known state-level HIE uses Connexion as an integration backbone and application host. In this scenario, Connexion brokers millions of messages per day to and from various enterprise applications, including EMPIs, registries, and internal applications. This HIE has a large development team which has built many Connexion-based libraries and applications. This HIE also leverages the Gateway platform to ingest data from remote practices into the primary registries.
Department Level Applications
A well-known hospital chain has built a billing application within Connexion. This application is isolated from the primary message source, making department-level development completely independent from other hospital infrastructure. In this case, there is a dedicated instance of Connexion acting as the core of this application.
Cost-effective Integration for Startups
Connexion was originally built for a startup looking for cost-effective integration tooling. Products which require integration functionality with each instance deployed often cannot justify the cost of a full-blown integration engine license for each customer. In many cases, the Gateway platform can provide cost-effective integration (and other benefits) where other licensing options are prohibitive.
Deep Enterprise Integration
A well-known healthcare software provider has fully adopted Connexion and Gateway platforms, and deeply integrated it with both product offerings and internal enterprise systems. This vendor utilizes both platforms for many of their product offerings – both cloud-based and on-premise. This includes cloud hosting (utilizing automation) as well as automated customer provisioning. There is deep integration with other enterprise platforms for health monitoring and ticketing, status, and configuration management. Much of our product development has been driven by our collaboration with this organization.
